Japanese Police had discovered a VHS near the bodies of an American teenage couple in their hotel room. As they ruled this a "homicide", they take the VHS to Police Headquarters and stuck in the VCR, and pressed play.
The VHS:
----
Sam and Carly had just flown on a plane to Japan with their three college bodies, Tom, Rachel, and Phil. They are going to go camping in the mountains and take beautiful photos of Japan's wildlife. Sam is holding the camera, so you can't see him in full frame, but you'd see either his shoes, his left hand, or hear his voice from behind the camera. Sam views through the window to see the large mountains and oceans.
"This is gonna be so awesome!" Sam says.
"You know, I have an uncle who lives here, he knows a lot about urban folklores, and many stories about Oni's and Kappa's." Replied Phil, he was an Asian-American who used to learn American English from the internet while residing in Tokyo. "I bet he can tell us some cool ghost stories from his youth."
"That sounds like a great idea!" Tom said.
As they got to Phil's uncle's house, they greeted each other, and asked about the many stories he shared with Phil. His uncle has so many, but one of his favorite ghost stories he had learned from childhood, was about something by the name of, "Nekomata". Sam and Carly had never heard about the urban legend, but Phil's uncle explained that the Nekomata is a "Yokai" that resembles a house cat with two tails. It is been said to have the powers of controlling the dead, and transforming into it's monstrous form, the "Bake-Neko". Sam and Carly are amazed and wanting to see pictures of it. But Tom and Rachel are very skeptical.
The scene then cuts to the teens buying a hotel in Tokyo to stay for the whole summer.
"Wow..." Said Sam as he records the hotel room. "This is so cool... Wait till I tell my family about this!"
Then as they got use to the hotel room, it cuts to tomorrow afternoon. And it shows the teens camping up in the mountains. They take photos of exotic plants and animals, then cook hotdogs and marshmallows on sticks near a campfire. But as night falls, Sam records the wilderness in night-vision to hear something like whispering deep in the woods.
"What the hell...?" He asked himself.
Sam goes over to the others and wake them up.
"Guys! Guys! Wake up!" He whispered.
"What, Sam?" Phil asked, still asleep.
"Do you not hear that?"
"Hear what?"
"Just follow me, I'll show you!"
Phil and the rest follow Sam to the woods, and to their surprise, they hear it too.
"What the fuck is that...?" Phil asked, instantly sprung awake.
"Guys... I think, we're not alone here..." Sam said.
"Guys, this isn't just whispering," Answered Phil, "This sounds like chanting... Just listen, listen."
They all listen, stayed quiet. And listened to the whispering in the night wind.
"I heard it!" Rachel said hysterically.
"See, that's fucking chanting." Phil replied.
"What's it saying, is it in Japanese?" Sam asked Phil.
"No." Answered Phil, "No, no it's not in my language. I honestly can't tell what he's saying. Hopefully it's not Hell's language."
"C'mon, let's go back to the camp. Hopefully it would go away tomorrow." Said Tom.
As it cuts to tomorrow morning, they listened, and the chanting was no where to be heard. Bu they have seen claw marks on their jeep.
"Oh my God!" Tom yelped. "Did a fucking bear come in and fucked up our jeep?!"
"That's no bear..." Said Phil, "This was done by something in the cat family..."
"A cat that size?" Sam asked, still holding the camera.
"Well, I don't know, but whatever it was, it made it's mark."
"Heh, it made more than a mark." Sam chuckled in disbelief.
Then the clip cuts to them in Tokyo buying groceries from a local store. Then it cuts to them coming back to the campground, they made sure they had all the supplies they needed. Then it cuts to night time, this is where things go bad. As the teens sit near the campfire, they heard the snapping of branches near their camp.
"Hey! Do you guys here that?!" Sam asked.
"Here wha-"
"LOOK OUT!" Yelled Phil.
Suddenly they saw something thrown at them, and it didn't take long for them to see that somebody (or something) throw a large boulder at their campfire, putting it out.
"Ugh, man! That's just great..." Sam grunted, now putting his camera in night-vision again.
The teens tried to ponder on what the hell kind of big cat (as Phil described it) could throw a boulder that size. What was happening, what was surrounding the teens and close in on them? And how can they find out what is stalking them?
They then devised a plan to seek out and find the creature responsible. They hiked up the mountain and through the woods with flashlights and guns. They searched high and low, but couldn't find a thing.
"It's been like, what, hours or so?" Sam asked, "We haven't find anything but a few deer and foxes. Let's just go to the hotel and sleep."
So the team gave up and head back to the jeep. But as the jeep starts, the jeep wouldn't budge.
"Fuck!" Cursed Tom, "It's probably stuck in something!"
"How can it be?!" Sam asked, "It hasn't rained in a week!"
So as Tom and Sam opened the doors to go and push the jeep, the jeep suddenly sped towards the camp, running over the tent, and sent crashing into a tree. This is where it goes to static.
As police were about to eject the tape, it cuts to the teens crawling out of the jeep, bleeding in a few places with bruises and shattered glass on them. Tom was shown dead as he was flung out of the windshield and broke every bone in his body by the impact. Turns out he didn't have a seatbelt when it crashed, and so did Sam, who was lucky to be alive. The two girls were historical, and Sam and Phil were starting to panic, but tried to figure out what the hell was going on.
"This is bad! This is bad!" Sam said breathing heavily.
"Ok, plan B!" Phil suggested.
"We need to get the hell out of here!" Sam exclaimed.
Suddenly, the two girls turned and screamed in horror at what they saw. The two boys turned to see... holy crap... they turned to see, what looks like a house cat, but larger in size. It was about the size of a garbage truck. It had two long tails, and smoke steamed out of it's fur, which was as if it's fur was made out of the thick mist. It's glowing eyes stared deep into them, looking into their minds. Phil, Sam and the girls ran down the mountain as fast as they could, but the creature just teleported itself to them. They ran another direction, but it would keep up to them and attack them with it's sharp claws like a hot knife through butter. Phil and Sam knew they still had the guns in the truck, so Sam ran to the damaged jeep and saw that Tom's body was no where in site. Must of eaten the body. Sam grabbed a 44 magnum from the backseat, ran down to the creature and shoot multiple rounds at it. But nothing phased it.
"What the hell are you...?!" Sam thought.
The creature made it's way to Sam and lunged at him as Sam screams for help. Then the VHS ends in white noise.
----
Police now identified the victims in the hotel as Phil and Rachel. The rest are still in the wilderness somewhere, just like the others, dead. The bodies of Sam, Tom, and Carly are still out there, and the case is still open. The officers and detectives are baffled by the creature's appearance in the footage, and doesn't know how they managed to get real life footage of it. But one question clouded their minds... Where was Tom's lifeless corpse? Police were called to an airport around 3:30 PM, and what they saw made all color drained from their faces. Tom's corpse was sitting up, rocking back and forth inside the plane. He looked at the police and murmured shakenly.
"...Th-the pain... P-p-please, I-I-it hurts..."

The cops immediately fired their guns at the zombie teenager till he was dead. Nobody in that airport knows what happened, or why this young man came back to life. But as police were making a crime scene around the airport, another passenger got out and paid for a flight to America.
Nobody knew that the Nekomata had disguised itself as Sam, as he held the real Sam's damaged camera. And smiles wickedly to itself
